Why folks choose it

  • A smooth, high-gloss finish that moves like liquid metal or marble
  • One of a kind: no two floors ever pour the same
  • Built to last and wipe clean, like all our floors

What is a metallic epoxy floor?

Metallic epoxy is a poured, high-shine floor with a metallic pigment blended into the coating. As it cures, that pigment moves and swirls, giving the surface a marbled, almost three-dimensional look that shifts with the light: think flowing metal or polished stone. It comes in a rich range of colors, from deep blues and coppers to silvers and pearls, and because the pigment settles a little differently on every pour, no two floors ever come out the same. Yours is genuinely one of a kind, smooth and seamless underfoot, and built to last and wipe clean like the rest of our floors.

How a metallic floor is built

A metallic floor is built up in layers, and the look comes from how they work together. Here is what goes down, from the slab up.

Exploded cutaway of a metallic floor, five layers floating apart and labelled. From the bottom: Concrete, a thick grey slab flecked with aggregate. Primer, a thin clear sheet. Base Coat, a solid navy layer. Metallic Coat, blue and silver pigment pulled into broad swirls. Top Coat, a clear glossy sheet across the top.

Concrete. We open up the surface of your concrete first, so everything above it has something to hold onto.

Primer. A clear epoxy primer that grips the bare concrete and gives everything above it something to bond to.

Base Coat. A pigmented epoxy coat. This is the solid color sitting underneath the metallic.

Metallic Coat. Epoxy carrying the metallic pigment, worked by hand while it is still wet. The waves and swirls come from this layer, and it is why no two floors come out the same.

Top Coat. A clear satin topcoat over the top. It protects the floor and gives the metallic its depth.

What colors can you do?

Just about any color. The finishes you'll see on our Imagine tool are examples, not the whole list. If you've seen a metallic floor you like, or you've got a color in mind, show us the picture and we can usually match it. Ask us and we'll tell you straight.

Metallic vs. our flake floors, and where each one shines

Folks often ask how metallic is different from our flake floors, so here's the straight answer. Flake is textured and speckled: tough, grippy underfoot, and great at hiding dust and tire marks, which is why it's our go-to for working garages and high-traffic spaces. Metallic is the other way around: smooth, glossy, and made to be seen. That's why it shines in living areas, entryways, showrooms, offices, or a garage you're turning into more of a showroom than a workshop. We'll always help you pick the right one for the room.

What does a metallic floor cost?

A metallic floor runs $14 to $16 per square foot, installed. The reason it sits above our other finishes is the work in it: the pigment is hand-worked while the coating is still wet, so no two floors come out alike and none of it can be rushed. Where you land in that range depends on the size of the space, the look you're after, and the shape your concrete's in. Your quote is free and same-day, with a straight answer on price up front, never at the end. And if you're military, a veteran, a first responder, or an educator, ask about your discount.

How long does a metallic floor take?

Most metallic floors run two to three days. The pour itself moves quickly; it's the prep underneath and the cure between coats that set the pace. Give it 24 hours after we finish before you walk on it and move furniture back. And we'll always give you the honest timeline before we start, so you can plan around it.

Where we install metallic floors

We pour metallic floors all over: New Braunfels, Seguin, San Marcos, Canyon Lake, Spring Branch, Bulverde, and everywhere in between. If you're somewhere in the Hill Country, we can bring the showpiece to you.
